80mm Wood Effect Aluminium Door Threshold – 1m Self Adhesive - Oak is backordered and will ship as soon as it is back in stock.
Create a clean, professional transition between adjoining floors with this 80mm Wood Effect Aluminium Door Threshold.
Made from strong aluminium with a decorative wood-effect finish, the profile combines the durability of a metal threshold with a warmer appearance that works particularly well alongside wood and wood-effect flooring.
Its generous 80mm width provides extra coverage for wider flooring joints, suitable expansion-gap areas, uneven cuts and refurbishment work where a standard narrow threshold may not cover enough of the floor.
The profile is supplied in a 1m / 1000mm length and uses a self-adhesive fixing system, so no drilling or visible screws are required on suitable surfaces.

Problems This Door Threshold Helps Solve
Standard Thresholds Are Too Narrow
Some doorway joints, old threshold areas or flooring cuts need more coverage than a narrow transition strip can provide.
The 80mm width gives extra coverage across the transition.
Old Threshold Removal Leaves Marks
Replacing an existing door bar can expose old fixing holes, damaged edges or uneven flooring cuts. The wider profile can help cover these areas for a cleaner finished appearance.
Small Differences Between Floor Heights
Two adjoining floors do not always finish perfectly level. The curved profile can accommodate approximately up to 3mm difference between the floor surfaces.
For larger differences, a dedicated ramp or adjustable transition profile would be more appropriate.
Customers Want to Avoid Drilling
The factory-applied adhesive allows installation on suitable surfaces without drilling, screws or plugs.
Metal Threshold Does Not Match Wood Flooring
The wood-effect surface provides the strength of aluminium with an appearance that coordinates more naturally with timber and wood-effect floors.
Benefits of This 80mm Wood Effect Threshold
Extra-Wide Coverage
At 80mm wide, the profile is particularly useful for larger flooring joints, wider transition areas and refurbishment projects.
Clean Self-Adhesive Installation
No visible screw heads or fixing holes are required when installed on a suitable clean, smooth surface.
Strong Aluminium Core
The threshold provides metal construction underneath the decorative wood-effect finish.
Smooth Curved Profile
The gently curved design helps create a low-profile transition between adjoining floor coverings.
Easy to Cut
The 1m aluminium profile can be shortened to suit the exact doorway width using an appropriate metal-cutting tool.
Suitable Flooring Types
The threshold is suitable for compatible:
- Solid wood flooring
- Engineered wood
- Laminate flooring
- Vinyl flooring
- LVT flooring
- Ceramic tiles
- Porcelain tiles
- Other suitable hard flooring surfaces
Typical combinations can include:
- Wood to laminate
- Laminate to tile
- Wood to tile
- Vinyl to laminate
- LVT to laminate
- LVT to tile
Same-Level & Slightly Uneven Floor Transitions
This profile is intended for floors that are either at the same level or have a relatively small difference in height.
The gently curved profile can accommodate approximately up to 3mm difference between adjoining surfaces.
It is not intended to replace a proper ramp profile where the two floors have a significant height difference.
Why the 80mm Width Is Useful
A wider transition profile can be particularly helpful when dealing with:
- Wider flooring joints
- Suitable expansion-gap areas
- Flooring cut back from the doorway
- Old threshold replacement
- Existing fixing holes
- Slightly damaged flooring edges
- Renovation work
- Refurbishment projects
The additional width provides more flexibility where a standard narrow door bar would leave parts of the joint exposed.
Installation Guide
-
Measure the doorway and mark the required length.
-
Cut the threshold using a suitable fine-tooth hacksaw or metal-cutting tool.
-
Ensure both flooring surfaces are clean, dry, smooth and free from dust, grease and cleaning residue.
-
Test-position the threshold before removing the adhesive backing.
-
Peel away the protective backing from the adhesive strips underneath.
-
Centre the profile over the flooring joint.
-
Lower it carefully into position.
-
Press firmly and evenly along the entire length to create a secure bond.
Avoid repositioning repeatedly once the adhesive has made full contact.
Important Installation Information
Self-adhesive fixing works best on a clean, dry, smooth and stable surface.
Very rough, porous, highly textured or uneven flooring may reduce adhesive contact.
Where the surface is unsuitable for the factory-applied adhesive alone, assess whether an additional compatible adhesive is appropriate for the flooring material and installation.
Before Ordering
Check the following before choosing this threshold:
- Doorway width
- Required transition coverage
- Floor height difference
- Flooring surface condition
- Whether the substrate is suitable for self-adhesive installation
The maximum stated floor level difference is approximately 3mm.
For a larger step between floors, choose a suitable ramp or adjustable transition profile instead.
Where the profile covers an expansion area, make sure the installation remains compatible with the flooring manufacturer's required movement allowance.
What Does the Customer Get from This Product?
The customer gets an extra-wide aluminium transition strip that combines practical coverage with a decorative wood-effect finish.
The 80mm width is particularly valuable because it can cover areas that narrower profiles may leave exposed, including wider joints, old fixing marks and uneven flooring cuts.
The self-adhesive backing also allows customers to create a neat transition without visible screws, while the aluminium construction gives them the durability of a metal threshold rather than a purely decorative strip.
Why Choose This Wood Effect Aluminium Door Threshold?
This threshold is a strong option for customers who need more coverage than a standard door bar while still wanting a warm wood-style finish.
Its combination of 80mm width, aluminium construction, self-adhesive fitting and approximately 3mm height accommodation makes it particularly useful for renovation, replacement and mixed-floor transition projects.
